A unorthodox version for a supremely weird year.
Well, here we are. Not exactly where any of us thought we’d be, but grateful nonetheless to be pointing in the right direction. You’ll recall last week we set out what the Restaurant Awards would look like this year. Recap: fewer categories, takeout focussed, more celebratory, less competitive. The entire package: essays, profiles, features will deal with the industry and how it survived (and is surviving) the pandemic, but it wouldn’t be the Restaurant Awards, without a few, you know, Awards. So here are the finalists in the almost entirely new categories we landed on this year. As always, we’re super interested in what you think, so fire us off a missive and stay tuned for the winners (although this year they’re all winners), which will be announced in our September issue.
Get the latest headlines delivered to your inbox 3 times a week, and you’ll be entered to win a pair of Kanto’s newest compact desktop speakers—Uki in the colour “Chalk,” as well as a pair of SU2 stands.
