Shop September: Katami Designs

Negar Khatami’s haute heirloom jewelry breathes life into ancient Iranian motifs and uses Stanley Park branches as her muse for opulent pendants in her brick-and-mortar mainstay Katami Designs (138 East Broadway, Vancouver, 778-882-7413, Katamidesigns.com). In homage to the support she received cutting her teeth as an independent jeweler, Negar opened up studio space to five other local emerging artists, whose work ranges from Karen Jones’ blacksmith pieces (you’ll never look at garden tools the same way) to Elizabeth Schnitzker’s hand-painted silk scarves (we consider them wearable art).
