Sneak Peek: Parq Vancouver

We’ve got your first look at Vancouver’s new mega resort.

Parq Vancouver has been in the works for seven years, so its grand opening today has been long awaited. The copper-clad building by B.C. Place is the province’s first mega-resort, and one that brings a little bit of Vegas glam to the city.Within its 775, 000 square feet, Parq Vancouver hosts a brand new casino, two hotels, three bars, Vancouver’s largest ballroom, and five high-end dining experiences curated by Blau Associates.Honey Salt is one of those restaurant options, presenting contemporary, family-oriented dining through farm-to-table offerings. BC Kitchen can be found on the second floor by the casino, offering comfort food and bar fare through 24/7 service and a takeout window for convenience. 1886 (named after the year Chinatown was founded) is fine Chinese dining highlighting fresh seafood and Vancouver’s first tea sommelier. Mrkt East (Market East) is funky, modern Asian fare reminiscent of a Shanghai night market. The Victor, which isn’t set to open until later this winter, will be a classic steak and seafood house that sits with beautiful skyline views on the sixth floor.Their two-floor casino (one of the only ones in the world featuring natural lighting) hosts over 75 table games and 600 slots. Guests have their choice of staying at two unique hotels, each with a different experience: the 329-room Marriott is classically elegant, while the Douglas, a part of their Autograph Hotels collection, includes 188 rooms and suites decorated with an eclectic West Coast flair. Both hotels have access to the sixth floor green space, which is affectionately named “The Parq.” Designed by landscape artist Christopher Phillips of PFS Studio, the urban park is 30,000 square feet and provides skyline views of downtown Vancouver, as well as a garden of native-to-BC trees.
