Want to sample AG Hair's new line? Here's your chance.
Here’s the thing. Winter has arrived and the upside is that you can now haul out all those cozy sweaters, boots and this season’s oversized jackets. The downside? Flat, limp locks that are drier than desert scrub. There are a host of hair products that help combat the cold-weather havoc (we’re big fans of drugstore beauties like John Frieda’s colour deepening treatment as well as local, all-natural Sage’s new Rosa Rescue with essential oils), but getting to try out products first-hand before you commit isn’t always easy. The good news is that another local brand we like, AG Hair, launches their Nordstrom pop-up shop this weekend for a little one-stop hair care.AG, founded in 1989 in a North Vancouver basement, has only ever been available in salons, but this year, they hit store shelves with a few gems including their dry shampoo (in shades for blondes and brunettes—which, no doubt, promises to give Bumble and bumble’s Hair Powder a run for its money) and the Texture line, which launched in March this year. This collection—including the cleansing cream and moisture mask—features charming rose-flowered packaging, which made us wonder why hair products always have to look so industrial. We’re more than skin-deep, though, so we’re also interested in how the cleansing cream replaces the traditional shampoo/conditioner ritual by combining anti-aging seaberry oil with natural seaweed extracts to gently remove dirt and pollutants from the hair.At this weekend’s AG Pop-Up, learn beauty trends, get hair touch-ups by celebrity stylist Christopher Deagle (who grooms for clients like Ralph Lauren and Louis Vuitton) and pick-up beauty samples all to the tunes of a DJ (because hair salon care really shouldn’t always be taken sitting down). Tickets are $20 in the form of a Nordstrom gift card, which can then be redeemed for beauty product purchases.
