Take transit or take a taxi, but take note: you're going to want to be at the opening day party tomorrow.
Leave the mascara at home—before heading into the office (or pre-prep for Friday night lights), get your make-up on tomorrow morning from 7:30-9:30 a.m. with the Nordstrom + Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-hosted street party. Just outside the shiny, light-filled new store on Robson Street (which will be shut down to traffic for the fanfare), festive tents will be bustling with Nordstrom’s beauty and fragrance experts all offering complimentary consults and demos. Food trucks, a photo booth, and live music mean you can party like it’s 5 p.m….right up until it’s all over and you’ll have to head into work.Or, keep the dream alive with the Opening Day Store Countdown at 9:30 a.m. Tents will be folded and nearly 950 employees will begin the opening ceremony ritual: department teams start their rallying cry with cheers, then the rest of the store chimes in for what has become a Nordstrom tradition: a rowdy store-wide opening countdown, where staff lines the aisles near the entrances to welcome and applaud the first customers through the doors. As if we needed more encouragement to check out those shoes and handbags.Friday, September 18: Beauty Bash, 7:30-9:30 a.m.; Countdown, 9:30 a.m.
