The Perfect Holiday Outfits

Bring a little sparkle into your holiday wardrobe.

Bring a little sparkle into your holiday wardrobe.

‘Tis the season to share joy, spread holiday cheer and bring out those sparkly outfits! I enjoy dressing for the holidays because you can be cozy and bundled while still looking super chic. It’s a great time to play with patterns, texture and items you normally would not wear during the rest of the year. This season, I chose my outfits with specific events in mind and headed to Park Royal where I knew I would find tons of variety to choose from.  Park Royal is your one-stop-shop destination for everything you need for the holidays. Whether it’s dressing yourself or gifts for loved ones (and maybe, you!), they have you covered and as you can see in my photos the architecture is beautiful! After grabbing some lunch in The Village, I beelined it for two of my go-to stores at Park Royal Oak + Fort, also located in The Village, to find outfits for dinner with the family and celebrations with friends, and Anthropologie in the exterior area of Park Royal South. I needed styles that could also be versatile because I plan on wearing the items again at a later date but not necessarily together. I always shop for longevity when adding new pieces to my wardrobe and these two shops offer just that.A few other shops at Park Royal that I enjoy shopping at are Aritzia for their slim cut pieces, Browns Shoes for their selection of designer footwear, Plenty for cozy knits and coming soon to Park Royal, a Vancouver staple – Hills Dry Goods! I don’t have a car so taking transit from Kits was an absolute breeze down Granville & West Georgia. I made it there in 35 minutes! Now, let’s talk fashion! The first outfit I chose is for celebrations with friends but if your family is as easy-going as mine, this works just as well for a time with the family! The top and bottom are both from Oak + Fort, and if gold is not your colour, the set also comes in black. I chose these pieces because I enjoyed them as a set but the top can be worn with a variety of bottoms like jeans, trousers and skirts while the bottoms can be really fun with a t-shirt, bodysuit or an oversized knit. The second look that I chose is for a dinner with family and is also great for any other formal event that the sparkly set is not suited for. I wanted a holiday element of sparkle but not too sparkly where it screams CHRISTMAS and I can never wear it again outside of one day of the year. I found this look at Anthropologie and paired the beautiful maxi skirt with a classic off-white knit sweater that can be worn every other day of the season. The bag brings in an element of fun but is a functional size (and comes with a crossbody strap!)What do you think of these two looks? Are you ready for your holiday parties?
