Born and bred in Kitsilano, Sophia Koumbis found a love for fashion when, as a toddler, she pressured her mother into buying her plastic high-heels from the five-and-dime. She started on Boboli’s sales floor 15 years ago, and after travelling the world as the co-buyer for Boboli and Max Mara stores, she was the natural choice to helm the boutique’s contemporary downtown outpost, BluBird. In the last three years, she has gone about making the shop into an expression of her own chic, youthful, West Coast aesthetic.
