Pens! Pens for everyone!
Our editorial staff is now stocked with a lifetime supply of gel pens thanks to the brand new (and highly anticipated) Muji store that opened Saturday at Metrotown. It’s not the first Canadian location for the beloved Japanese brand (Toronto had the honours back in 2014) but it is the biggest. The 7,700-square-foot shop is stocked with charmingly minimalist supplies for every part your life—unbleached notebooks, organic cotton duvets, Japanese tableware, linen shirts and beyond. It’s like Ikea went to outer space, and we love it.The Muji brand orients itself as fulfilling needs and not desires (“Muji’s goal is to give customers a rational satisfaction, expressed with, ‘This will do,'” states their press release), but we think they may have made a mistake somewhere along the way because one look at the neatly stocked shelves of homewares and we’re wanting it all. Take a peek inside the Metrotown shop below.
