From mix-and-match silhouettes to pantsuits, these are the hottest looks for wedding parties right now.
Bridesmaids and groomsmen do a ton of behind-the-scenes work, planning epic bachelor and bachelorette parties, crafting unique party favours, writing heartfelt toasts. It’s one of the reasons why they’re invited to dress up and stand next to couples as they exchange vows.
While deciding which siblings, childhood besties and college roommates will be in your wedding party is (often) quite simple, choosing what they’ll wear is not. It’s why we’ve rounded up a few of the hottest bridesmaid and groomsmen styles for the 2022 season—and the local stores where you can get the look.
Finding a single dress style that looks amazing on every bridesmaid is no easy feat. This isn’t Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. If you don’t want to stray too far from tradition, but also want your bridal party to be as comfortable as possible, let each choose a silhouette that complements their body type and personal style.
The key to pulling this off? Making sure each dress is the same colour and made from the same material. That said, you could give your maid of honour a little special treatment (say, by dressing them in shining satin and everyone else in a matte fabric).

Floral bridesmaid dresses have been trending for a long time now—and that’s not likely to change anytime soon. But today’s brides are going for bigger and bolder patterns: think abstract graphics, bright colours and intricate embroidery. This style looks incredible when every bridesmaid is in the exact same patterned dress, but is even better when you incorporate multiple prints, colours and silhouettes. If you’re interested in adding an extra touch of whimsy and personality to your wedding, this is the way to go.

You can also choose to ditch the dress altogether. More than ever, brides are asking their parties to dress in pants and jumpsuits. Whether you opt for a one- or two-piece look, pay attention to the fit and shape. Drapey fabrics, high-waist silhouettes, wide legs and pretty details (think bows, belts and cutouts) will keep the look from being too utilitarian.

Patterns look just as great on groomsmen as they do on bridesmaids. Plus there are so many ways to incorporate them. Paisley and floral suit jackets are having a moment, but you also can’t go wrong with polka-dot or checkered shirts. If that’s still too loud, you can incorporate prints in your groomsmens’ accessories: socks, ties and pocket squares will all do the trick.

I’ll admit I’m slightly biased here—that’s my husband and his groomsmen in the photo above. While we tied the knot a little over four years ago, mismatched suits are still a popular option. The best part about this look is that it can be dressed up or down to match your wedding style. If you’re inviting guests to a black-tie affair, opt for more formal tuxedos and luxe fabrics (velvet is also trending this year); for a backyard wedding, stick with relaxed styles and materials (linen never fails).
