Looking for the right outdoor venue for your 2022 wedding in Vancouver? We've got you covered.
First comes love, then comes marriage stress? After getting engaged, couples need to make decisions on everything from floral arrangements and wedding favours to seating charts and cocktail menus. But before you can even do that, you need to figure out where the wedding will take place. How many guests do you intend to invite? Do you envision getting married in a church or on a beach?
Whether you’ve always had your heart set on an open-air ceremony or are just starting to explore your options, here are some of the best outdoor venues in and around Vancouver.
Maximum Capacity: 300+
Price: From $2,000
For brides and grooms who can’t decide between farm and forest, this UBC venue—nestled among 24 hectares of agricultural land and century-old hemlock trees—offers the best of both worlds. Renters will have access to an event field and orchard, but it’s the romantic poplar grove where most choose to set up their ceremony. Since the venue doesn’t provide catering or decor services, it’s the perfect spot for couples who have a unique vision and want to work with their favourite vendors from across the city.

If your Pinterest search history includes industrial-chic or warehouse wedding ideas, look no further than The Wallace. Located in the Shipyards District in Lower Lonsdale, this venue features heritage-inspired architectural details and more than 5,500 square feet of event space (including a covered terrace), allowing guests to seamlessly transition from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor reception—or vice versa.
Maximum Capacity: 150
Price: From $9,440
At Maan Farms, couples can choose to say “I do” in the landscaped courtyard or among the crop fields (strawberry, sunflower or corn depending on the season). With the former featuring a beautiful walnut tree and rustic gazebo and the latter offering panoramic mountain views, there’s really no wrong option. The reception area—an antique barn with exposed wood beams and Edison bulbs—further contributes to this idyllic country setting.
Maximum Capacity: 200
Price: From $1,500
The grounds surrounding this Tudor mansion are filled with trees, gardens, stone pathways and architectural details. In other words, it’s the ideal spot for capturing first looks, exchanging vows and celebrating with guests. Whether you want to make a grand entrance or take in the views from the terrace, there are plenty of areas to set up your ceremony and reception.

Hart House, located on the grounds of Deer Lake Park, has more than one event space available to rent—including the main dining room in the Tudor-style home the restaurant occupies. But couples who want an entirely outdoor wedding (ceremonies take place on the lawn) should inquire about the tent. It comes equipped with everything you’ll need to bring your reception to life, including tables and chairs, chandeliers and a dance floor.
Maximum Capacity: 175
Price: From $2,870
Old-growth trees? Check. Rugged mountain peaks? Check. Meandering trails? Check. Sunwolf’s 5-acre property has all the essentials for a magical forest or camp-themed wedding—and it’s only an hour drive from Vancouver. If that’s still a little too far for some of your guests to travel, offer them a bed in one of the 10 riverside cabins that are included with the rental (they can accommodate up to 54 people) or invite them to pitch a tent on the venue’s spacious lawn.
Maximum Capacity: 280
Price: Available upon request
This waterfront property at Jericho Beach has an impressive history. Built in 1912, it’s been used as a private residence, a home for the Vancouver RCMP and a restaurant (which it’s been operating as since 1977). More than 250 weddings are hosted here each year, allowing couples to tie the knot underneath a grand maple tree or in front of stunning ocean and mountain views. The garden tent and conservatory—where guests are invited to dine and dance—are gorgeous, too.
