Mishmish, located at Fraser and 19th, is expected to open later this year.
We quickly fell in love with Superbaba when it opened in 2020—the Middle Eastern restaurant won gold in our Best Casual category in both the all-takeout 2021 Restaurant Awards and the 2022 Restaurant Awards. And this morning, Superbaba chef and owner Dallah El announced a new venture: Mishmish, a Middle-Eastern inspired bakery that will open in Fraserhood later this year.
Joining Dallah El will be baking and pastry chefs Leah Christ and Marysol Lopez. According to the team, Mishmish will be “part bakery, part bagel shop, and part coffee shop,” serving goodies like baklava and Jerusalem bagels and new takes on Turkish coffee and Moroccan mint tea. Also on the menu will be bagel sandwiches and house-made breads and dips.
The bakery will be located in Fraserhood (Fraser and 19th, specifically)—follow @mishmishbakery on Instagram to keep up to date. The award-winning Superbaba has set our expectations very high.
