Ophelia and Monarca

You have two locations to choose from for this Valentine’s Day three-course menu by Chef Francisco. Both Ophelia and Monarca are offering sparkling wine, three appetizers including Volcan de Picana (crispy tortilla, Oaxaca cheese, roasted picana, avocado and burnt salsa), two main options (tenderloin in raspberry mole or ling cod chilpaya) and a tres leches cake for dessert.

B House (Richmond and Commercial Drive) 

Yellow fin tuna tartar with tobiko and taro chips and a Surf and Turf platter for two is available at both B House locations this February 14. The platter comes with top sirloin steak, steelhead trout, butter roasted lobster tail and rosemary potatoes all under a red wine peppercorn sauce (and cucumber feshca to share). Dessert and drinks-wise, there’s a molten brownie and mascarpone raisin bread pudding combo and love-inspired cocktails.

Jungle Room 

Why have a Valentine’s Day when you could have a Valentine’s week? From February 12-18, Jungle Room is offering a Valentine’s menu including scallop and gold gyoza and rose hip crème brûlée, complimented by a citrusy Lucia’s Ruby cocktail, or the boozy, coconut-infused Versailles. 

Reservations can be made between 5pm and 10pm in advance of this special week. 

Suyo Modern Peruvian 

On February 14 enjoy Menu Del Amor, a one-night-only tasting menu by Chef Ricardo Valverde to celebrate the Peruvian Dia Del Amor Y La Amistad (day of love and friendship). Across the eight courses you can expect a flavourful ceviche amoroso, veel cheek tacos, matcha macarons and a chocolate, passion fruit and ice cream combo among many others. 

Price: $249 not including drinks or gratuity

Mott 32 

Always the big mood-setter, Mott 32 is celebrating everlasting love with Valentine’s Day features including lobster Har Gow dim sum and Alaskan king crab meat with fried rice and black truffle. End the night with a rose and Valrhona white chocolate pannacotta with lychee sorbet.

Sushi Mahana

Sushi Mahana’s Vday menu is on from the 9 to 14. This menu includes a negitoro monaka appetizer made with mochi wafer, fatty tuna and creamy tofu dressing, an unagi and karasumi main which (grilled eel and Japanese bottarga on uni rice), and to finish strong, signature wagyu beef sushi with snow crab sauce. 

Price: $250 per person

Water St. Cafe 

Have your choice between a four-course or seven-course menu at Water St. Cafe this Valentine’s Day, featuring lobster bisque or Surf and Turf.

Price: $79 per person for four-course, $149 per person for seven-course

Bar Corso 

Highlights of this seven-course Valentine’s Day menu include oysters with citrus caviar, tortellini in brodo and a dark chocolate layer cake with caramel custard and hazelnuts for dessert. Or, pop by for drinks between February 4 to 14 to catch a Valentine’s-inspired cocktail menu.

Provence Marinaside 

When it comes to a romantic Valentine’s Day meal, the French get it right. Chef Jean-Francis and his team have designed a six-course menu (Diner d’Amoureaux pour Deux) highlighting Vancouver’s seafood, including daurade royale aux truffes, filet de boeuf sauce rossini and a plate of assorted desserts to end on a sweet note. This dinner is also available with wine pairings. 

Price: $135 per person, wine pairings an additional $65 per person.

Forage 

With two flutes of sparkling wine at the ready for your arrival, Forage is an elegant option for your Valentine’s Day in Vancouver this year. Enjoy fresh BC oysters, sea urchin and scallops pasta and chocolate lava cake from their four-course Valentine’s Day only menu.

Bacchus Restaurant and Lounge 

Bacchus is hosting afternoon tea from February 11-12 and a 4-course Valentine’s Day dinner on the 14. The tea menu includes both sweet and savoury treats paired with black, green or herbal teas—or add on caviar and sparkling cocktails for a luxurious twist. The dinner menu includes tuna tartare, as well as lobster consomme, merlot-braised beef short rib and maple-glazed sablefish. Passionfruit creme pavlova and macarons are offered for dessert. 

Price: Afternoon tea is $75 per person, the dinner menu starts at $175 per person and curated wine pairings are an additional $65 per person.

Dahlia

Dahlia is showing their love to Azur hotel guests and non-guests alike by featuring a three-course diner for two. Think sourdough baguette, salmon crudo and roasted sablefish (and choose between a Chantilly cream or red velvet cake dessert).

Fable Kitchen 

A three-course fixed menu awaits at Fable Kitchen. Expect roasted beet salad, striploin medallion with mushroom and potatoes and chocolate mousse for dessert (among other vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options).

Parq Vancouver 

No gambling here (not upstairs, at least). Parq Vancouver is setting the mood with a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner at Honey Salt. Think smoked salmon, pate en croute and entrees like a 20oz PEI cowboy ribeye. 

Price: $88 per person, optional wine pairings available for $40.

Fanny Bay Oysters

From February 14 to 18, this Michelin-recommended oyster bar has the perfect dinner for you and your lobster. Chef Tommy Shorthouse’s menu includes beet-cured salmon carpaccio, shrimp and scallop ricotta gnocchi and pavlova with raspberries, strawberries, rose syrup and mint. Oysters are available too, of course: West and East Coast oysters on the half shell, raw specialties like caviar with house accompaniments and jumbo shrimp cocktail is on offer.

Here’s a budget-friendly option: Gringo has the best deal for you and your amor. With a big dinner for two you will be able to enjoy their Shared Sex in the Alley bucket (Lady and the Tramp style cocktail), Nachos to share, for entree six tacos of your choice and some classic House-made Churros.

Black and Blue 

Black and Blue is offering a three-course feast made up of tableside caesar salad, Beef wellington and Paris brest (pâte à choux, vanilla-rose whipped ganache, raspberry coulis).

Say Mercy  

If you want to feel innamorato, Say Mercy is hosting a special “Giacomo and Anabelle’s Wedding Dinner” inspired by Italian and South American love. This six-course dinner highlights Lady and the Tramp spaghetti, insaltadi polpo (charred octopus, potato salad, pickled peppers, pork ribs and hush puppies) and a sweet end with a heart-shaped cherry lime rocket pop.

Cardero’s 

A romantic dinner calls for Coal Harbour views. For Vday, Cardero’s is serving lobster bisque, crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms, grilled Arctic char and more. Dessert is strawberry shortcake and a waterfront sunset photo op.

Minami  

Minami’s six-course dinner by chef Alan Ferrer features fresh premium sashimi, a surf & turf plate with A5 Iwate wagyu and lobster, aburi sushi and strawberry sesame mousse. Optional wine and sake pairings are available.

Mèreon 

Usually a brunch hotspot, Mèreon is honouring Valentine’s day this year via a pop-up dinner starting at 5pm on February 14. Highlights of their menu include truffled cream of cauliflower soup, bay scallops and prawns and passion fruit crème brûlée.

Wa-Bagel

Nothing like a heart-shaped crystal sugar bagel for the season of love. This Japanese-style bagel shop is twisting their bagels into hearts on a first-come, first-serve basis from February 12 to 14. Different bagel flavours include apple cinnamon, matcha cheesecake, red Bean and cream cheese, and mochi matcha.

Temper Chocolate 

For your sweetie with a sweet tooth, Temper Chocolate and Pastry is offering Valentine-themed treats including their Heart Showpiece, an edible box filled with assorted chocolates, strawberry cremeux Tarts with vanilla marscarpone mousse and heart-shaped raspberry jam-filled Linzer cookies.

This downtown coffee shop is offering raspberry and pistachio croissants, prawn and pesto salad and raspberry mimosas for Valentine’s Day.
