An artisanal, organic bubble tea shop sounds almost too Vancouver to exist. But it’s finally happening and leaves us asking, “well what took so long”? Buns and Boba, opening soon at Kingsway and Broadway, claims to be the first of its kind in Vancouver to go “all natural.” The upscale spot uses only loose-leaf organic tea (with green, black, herbal and low-caffeine options) to build their tapioca-studded bevs. And get this: it’s also vegan-friendly, with fresh oat milk, nut milk and other dairy-free alternatives available (and made in-house).The boba are made without powders or concentrates and have no extra additives, but if chewy bubbles aren’t your thing, the shop will also serve small-batch coffee from Squamish roaster Counterpart Coffee and some other intriguing concoctions: be sure to try the Hong Kong classic, Yeenyueng, a combination of their coffee and smoky black tea (it’s one of those culinary marvels that sounds odd but ends up working really well). Boba and Bubbles also plans on offering a rotating selection of in-house baked goods, made with seasonal ingredients.Interested in some freebies? For their grand opening on July 7th, the first 100 customers will walk away with 75 grams of free tea.Buns and Boba Grand Opening When: July 7, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PMWhere: 327 East Broadway, Vancouverhttps://www.instagram.com/p/Bjv-lg-n76r/?taken-by=bunsandboba
