With Chinatown's Juke announcing its second location, the West End is the newest spot to get in on the summer of fried chicken.
Whoa, Vancouver, y’all got to slow down on the fried chicken. With karaage and KFC (that’s Korean fried chicken) all over the place, and the arrival of East-Van’s very own ode to Nashville Hot Chicken, this isn’t a great summer to be poultry in British Columbia (though it’s a very good place to dine on it). Now, on fried chicken day of all days, we get another nugget of batter-encrusted news. Juke, the Chinatown spot that brought quality Southern-style fried chicken to the fore for Vancouver snackers, is opening a new location later this summer. The West End is ground zero for Juke’s new counter at 1074 Davie St. which will be fully licensed and open for lunch and dinner. Of course, the menu will be built around Juke’s classic, delicious, and shockingly gluten-free, buttermilk fried chicken. In the meantime, Juke is marking fried chicken day (Friday, July 6) at their original 182 Keefer St. location. Starting at 11am Vancouverites can grab a signature chicken sandwich for $3 (!) each. Let the summer of fried chicken continue, Vancouver, we’re very glad it’s happening. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk2oLCLl6pn/?hl=en&taken-by=jukefriedchicken
