The list features three 2016 Van Mag Restaurant Award winners
You know how it works by now: Air Canada’s enRoute magazine lists 35 new restaurants across Canada, then you, the people, vote to name the top 10 best new restaurants in the whole country. This year’s long list includes six Vancouver hotspots including Royal Dinette (Van Mag’s “Best New” winner), Torafuku (our “Best Other Asian” bronze winner), Ancora (our “Best Seafood” bronze winner”), and Kitsilano’s Mission, as well as brand-spanking new rooms Osteria Savio Volpe and Kissa Tanto. If you feel passionately about any of these rooms, head to eatandvote.com to cast your vote before the top 10 winners are announced this November. Last year’s list saw local room AnnaLena place in the top 10, as well as Galiano’s Pilgrimme, leaving us confused as to whether we want to share our toys with the rest of Canada or not.Clement Chan, chef and co-owner of Torafuku, says the nomination from enRoute is “definitely icing on the cake.”Photo by Fahim Kassam
