Como Taperia's happy hour means free tapas with every drink order. We're in.
Summer is here (well, in theory anyways) and the world is (mostly) open, which means people are heading off on European excursions once again. But if you’re not ready to actually drop the dough for a Spanish vacay, you can still enjoy a traditional Spanish-style happy hour at Como Taperia.
If you’ve never been to Spain, let me break down the genius happy hour concept for you. You head on into a bar and stand at the counter while you order a drink… and then receive a free tapa to go with it. Yes, you get free snacks with your drink. With every drink.
Como famously took this concept and ran with it a few years ago, and we’re pretty freaking excited that it’s finally back. The Main St. resto is known for its killer tapas selection (I’m partial to the goat-cheese-stuffed peppers) and now you get to try tasty bites for free because starting June 1, from 4 to 5 P.M., guests who stand at the bar get free tapas with every drink order.
If standing at the bar isn’t your thing, you can still cash in on a pretty solid happy hour deal if you grab a table. Restaurant and patio guests get 25 percent off most food items, plus there are a bunch of drink specials. Think $10 sangria, Estrella Damm for $6 and 40 percent off all bottles of wine.
June 1 also marks the official opening of the patio at Como. However, it’s weather-permitting because as much as we want to lose ourself in the Spanish fantasy, this is still, well, Vancouver.
