West End wine and snack bar Latab Food is hosting its eighth monthly collaborative culinary event, Colab at Latab, on July 18th. For $75 guests will be treated to a six-course meal (beverages available at an additional cost) put on by some of the industry’s finest: David Jackman (Houndstooth), Jay Drysdale (Bella Wines), Camille Flanjak (Museum Eats), and Kris Barnholden (Latab Food). The focus for this month’s dinner is to push boundaries. “David Jackman will be joining us to craft a unique menu very much rooted in the Pacific Northwest, focusing on found ingredients from unceded Coast Salish Territories” says Latab chef and co-owner Kris Barnholden. Also unique to this month’s dinner? “We have the honour of delving into Bella Wines’ cellar and tasting some sparkling wines not available to anyone, which is a rare treat” he adds. Barnholden is co-hosting the event with local forager Camille Flanjak from Museam Eats.Colab at Latab was started by Barnholden and Flanjak to bring together local chefs, bartenders, and wild harvesters to explore new ideas and dishes in the community.
