More often than not, real business gets done not in the boardroom, but over drinks—so the non-profit Whisky Wisemen Society is embracing that natural pairing of shop talk and a glass of something strong in order to do some good.Its Be Wise Speaker Series and Whisky Festival October 18 at the Imperial will offer whisky tastings from around the world alongside talks and keynotes from a collection of inspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders, all in the name of supporting local organization Working Gear, which outfits low-income men re-entering the workforce.Between presentations from people like former Dragon’s Den Dragon David Chilton, taste offerings from Bruichladdich, and then after the keynote, taste your way (as responsibly as possible) through 50 different whiskies from around the world.When: Thursday, October 18thTime: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PMWhere: The Imperial, 319 Main St, Vancouver, V6A 2S9Get your tickets here.
