1. Fleurs de Villes: FEMMES

June 3-12

Fleurs de Villes has bloomed, which means downtown Vancouver is now full of some pretty stunning floral displays created by local florists. There are fifteen floral mannequins depicting significant women throughout time plus a flower-bombed VW Beetle, a floral swing and a pop-up flower market.

Nosh Foodie Fest

2. Nosh Foodie Fest

June 11-12

Head to Capilano Mall for this outdoor showcase of all things delicious. There’s a flavour lab where you can co-create cloud beverages and edible balloons, a tasting lounge where you can try food and beverage samples, an artisanal market from BC vendors and a bunch of local foods trucks. Plus, there’ll be a live DJ setting the mood over the whole weekend.

7 Generations Pro Skateboarding Event

3. 7 Generations Cup

June 10-12

This Indigenous-hosted pro skateboarding spectacular is full of some pretty sick events, including an all-terrain contest, a freestyle cup, trick battles and a competition marking the 35th anniversary of the historic mini ramp challenge that first tool place in Richmond. There will also be Pow Wow dancers, Indigenous drummers and singers plus a Basket Repatriation Ceremony and plenty of Indigenous vendors.

4. Global Soundscapes

June 9-12

The Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra’s annual Global Soundscapes Festival is back with live and in-person performances. The concerts celebrate the intersection of traditional sounds and instruments from all over the world with contemporary classical music by Canadian composers.

5. Morag, You’re A Long Time Deid

June 9-19

Morag, You’re A Long Time Deid is an experimental musical that remixes traditional Scottish music in order to trace a journey of queer discovery. Expect traditional ballads interwoven with club beats, telling old stories in modern ways.
