There’s no one right way to plan a wedding. Some couples choose to get married indoors while others prefer outdoor venues. Some brides and grooms plan elaborate surprises, while others opt for more traditional ceremonies. But there is one thing no wedding can seem to do without: flowers. With that in mind, here are some of the best floral boutiques in Vancouver.
You don’t have to learn the difference between peonies, ranunculus, dahlias and hydrangeas just because you’re getting married—and especially not if you choose to work with The Wild Bunch. This Vancouver florist, known for its freestyle designs, prefers to create bouquets and arrangements using what’s local and in season. In other words: you don’t have to make any tough decisions and your wedding flowers are guaranteed to be beautiful, fresh and unique. (Photo: Sharalee Prang Photography)
The Flower Factory has been creating beautiful floral designs since 1996—and it’s florists have over 60 years of combined experience. The shop, which has consistently been voted best florist in Vancouver, has created everything from timeless, monochromatic arrangements to rich and moody flower backdrops to bright and bold bouquets—proving it can work with whatever colour palette you have in mind. Sustainability may not be the first thing that comes to mind when planning a wedding, but there are vendors who can help make sure you’re being as conscious as possible. Studio Full Bloom is one of them. This small shop on Commercial Drive works with ethically sourced flowers that are Fairtrade, Veriflora, Rainforest Alliance or similarly certified—and they’re gorgeous, too.
De La Flore also takes a sustainable approach to floral design, priding itself on using as many locally sourced flowers and eco-friendly materials as possible (i.e. your bouquet will be heavily influenced by the season). If you have no other plans aside from the time of year you want your wedding to take place, De La Flore will make sure you have a bouquet to match. (Photo: Brenna Louise)
Our Little Flower Company, once located in the Granville Island Public Market, has moved its operations online—which makes ordering wedding flowers a breeze. For every bridal bouquet, flower crown, garland and boutonniere you add to your cart, you can upload three photos to let designers Erin and Kerstyn know exactly what you want for your big day.
If it’s a jaw-dropping floral installation you want, turn to Celsia. Known for its large, elegant arrangements, this floral design studio offers two wedding services: bespoke (suitable for brides and grooms who are able to spend a minimum of $5,000) and à la carte (starting from $285). Whether you want a fully custom collection of centrepieces, archways, and flower backdrops or a carefully crafted bouquet, Celsia can help bring your unique vision to life. There isn’t a luxury Vancouver wedding venue that Garden Party Flowers hasn’t decorated: its portfolio includes large-scale events at the Vancouver Club, Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Brock House, The Permanent, Fairmont Waterfront, and Shangri-La Hotel, among others. But that’s not to say it can’t help with smaller, intimate ceremonies—in fact, the florist has a collection of bouquets and accessories designed specifically for elopements, which can be easily ordered at least a week in advance.
