September Food Events in Vancouver: Where to Feast This Month

Don't miss these fabulous food and drink events in Vancouver.

Cozy season’s coming, no matter what. Dig in with an autumnal tea serving up PSL martinis; an experimental sound dinner featuring ASMR-style audio of your meal being harvested; and an Emily in Paris–inspired pastry-making class so you can (finally!) master those homemade chocolate croissants.

A Trio of Emily in Paris Events at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts

In honour of our fave Netflix fashionista and the City of Lights, PICA is orchestrating three special events. First, a cooking class featuring four dishes, including french onion soup and molten chocolate cake from Café de Flore; next, a seven-course dinner complete with Provencal beef stew and crème brûlée; and last, a dessert and pastry class where you’ll learn how to make four treats including pain au chocolat.

WHEN: September 14, 19 and 28
WHERE: 1505 W. 2nd Ave #101

Chambar x Lobe Studio Experimental Sound Dinner

Imagine dining to the ambient sounds of your dish being harvested, ASMR-style. Chambar makes this an artsy reality for a five-course dinner event; Chambar’s Chef Nico Schuermans was accompanied by Lobe Studio co-founder Edo Van Breeman to Gambier Island where they recorded a soundtrack while the chef harvested, foraged, forest-walked and cooked on an open fire. (If you can’t make these dates, try to hit Chambar’s 20th anniversary party on September 29.)

Indáy Filipino Chef Exchange Dinner at Bravo

Go beyond adobo at this inaugural event—conceived by award-winning cookbook author and Canadian Culinary Championship judge Joie Alvaro Kent—which sees four rising young chefs from BC and Alberta celebrate their Filipino-Canadian heritage with a multi-course dinner. On the table there’ll be a unique take on bibingka (a coconut-rice cake), a regional Visayan fish dish and more. Fraser Street’s Bravo (Vanmag‘s 2024 Best New Restaurant winner) will play host for two nights before the chefs move on to Calgary.

WHEN: September 23 and 24

It also has a selection of loose-leaf teas and tasty delicacies like Serrano ham with pickled mustard seeds and coffee aioli on brioche, salted caramel apple pie bar and pumpkin tiramisu… and it all takes place in the iconic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s sunken tearoom at Notch8.
