From dine-in dinners to take-out feasts, these local restaurants are making Thanksgiving stress-free with their takes on holiday classics.
It goes without saying that Thanksgiving is about, well, giving thanks. Though we at Vanmag have had a lot to be thankful for over the past year, we do all appreciate the second-greatest thing about the holiday: the food.
But, cooking your own feast can become a source of anxiety and stress—so we’re looking to these local restaurants that are serving up the food of the season. From dine-in classics like turkey and stuffing to creative take-homes like baked oyster kits, these local gems have you covered whether you want to indulge on your couch or dress up for a night on the town.
The Lazy Gourmet is offering an at-home festive meal created by chef Jenny Hui. The menu features starters like an arugula and radicchio salad and sweet rolls, a maple bourbon glazed Hallmark Farm turkey with spiced apple and cranberry sauce, roasted garlic mash and gravy, plus a chocolate pumpkin tart for dessert.

Bacchus is hosting a three-course Thanksgiving dinner on October 13 and 14. The meal includes a potato rosti amuse bouche, your choice between burrata (with roasted veggies and focaccia) or truffled consommé (with tortellini), plus a slow-roasted sage turkey breast and roulade served with traditional sides and finally pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

Tutto is offering a Thanksgiving meal on October 14. Enjoy a meal featuring roast turkey with chestnut and sage stuffing, potato gratin with prosciutto, Brussels sprouts and turkey gravy.

P2B Bistro and Bar is celebrating Thanksgiving from October 7 to 14 with a lunch and dinner menu where you can choose from a la carte items or a three-course meal. Additionally, they are offering a family-style Thanksgiving feast that feeds up to ten both in-restaurant and for take-away.

Pier 7 is offering a Thanksgiving three-course dinner featuring options like butternut squash soup, confit turkey breast, braised bison short rib risotto, grilled cauliflower steak and pumpkin creme caramel.

On October 13 and 14, North Van’s The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge is offering a three-course menu that features items like smoked salmon bisque, a cranberry and brie tart, slow-roasted Fraser Valley turkey, prime rib, stuffed acorn squash, chocolate pumpkin cake and more. The restaurant is also offering an at-home to-go option featuring a roasted free-range Fraser Valley turkey, stuffing, maple-glazed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. It serves 8-10 people and additional add-ons are available. Orders should be placed by October 11 at 4 p.m.

The Burnaby Heights and White Rock patisserie is offering special Thanksgiving desserts, including a a pumpkin tart topped with pumpkin caramel and topped with a pecan frangipane and a pumpkin spice cruffin filled spiced pumpkin pastry cream made with coffee beans from Vancouver’s Pallet Coffee Roasters and pumpkin caramel. Order online or in-store by October 10.

The Yaletown Butcher is working with Elisa‘s executive chef, Andrew Richardson to execute Thanksgiving specials this year. Options include a full turkey dinner (served with stuffing, roasted Brussels sprouts, peas and carrots, roasted potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy and pumpkin pie) and a bone-in prime rib roast (with roasted Brussels, peas and carrots, roasted potatoes and pumpkin pie.)

H Tasting Lounge is back with its turkey takeout menu for Thanksgiving. There are two options: first, the whole turkey that feeds 8-10 people and includes including Yukon gold mashed potatoes, apple and brioche stuffing, maple-glazed root vegetables, roasted Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy and rosemary brioche rolls, plus pumpkin butterscotch pie for dessert. The second option is individual carvery-to-go meals that include all the same sides. Additionally, you can add-on maple honey-glazed ham or extra servings to your order.

All four The Greek locations (Yaletown, Gastown, Broadway and North Van) are offering a dine-in or take-out feast for two for Thanksgiving this year. The meal include a pound of boneless, roasted turkey thigh, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, potatoes, rice and seasonal veg.

On October 13 and 14 Dockside is offering a dine-in Thanksgiving feast that features butternut squash soup (with brown butter, winter spices, chili oil and crushed hazelnuts and a side of herb oil focaccia) or warm beet salad to start (with sundried tomato cashew cream, spaghetti sqiash, and fresh greens with a cranberry vinaigrette). For the main there is a classic turkey plate with savoury thyme stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, fried Brussels sprouts, citrus cranberry sauce and house-made gravy. Plus, a pumpkin pie cheesecake (with candied walnuts and whisky caramel) or dairy-free coconut pumpkin pie with berry compote for dessert.

Hawksworth’s turkey to-go option is back this year, featuring a Rossdown Farms turkey plus pork stuffing, kale and beetroot salad, roasted carrots and parsnips, pomme purée, roasted Brussels sprouts, house-made buttermilk and chive biscuits, pan gravy and spiced cranberry sauce. Dessert is a chic take on the classic pie: a pumpkin tartlet. Pickup is available on October 13 and 14.
