Last summer, after nearly three decades, Vancouver's famed live music joint, Richards on Richards, closed its doors to become yet another condominium development. What could replace a bar that provided dependable doses of rock 'n' roll, metal, pop, punk, dance and indie music? The scene spread out to smaller, older venues across the city, many of which got a facelift just in time.
