The panel, at Brian Jessel BMW (2311 Boundary Rd.), features Vancouver Granville Liberal candidate Jody Wilson-Raybould and SFU Chancellor Anne Giardini.A lawyer, author, and business leader, Giardini was appointed as Chancellor of Simon Fraser University in June of 2014. An SFU graduate herself, Giardini took on the role with excitement, declaring SFU’s vision of being Canada’s most community-engaged research university to be tremendously energizing. Giardini also serves as president of Weyerhaeuser Company Ltd, a role she has held since 2008.An avid volunteer and a respected public speaker, Giardini is especially known for her expertise on natural resource development, public and government relations, safety, risk, brand management, and manufacturing. She has previously chaired the Vancouver International Writers Festival, acted as a board member of the Writers Trust of Canada, and served as an honorary patron of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. She also served as a member of the Federal Advisory Council for Promoting Women on Boards.
