The Vancouver Latin American Film Festival brings together some of the most exciting cinema from Latin American and Latin Canadian filmmakers. Catch the last three days of the festival along with some of their additional screenings. Put up a Façade

September 4 to 10

Watch in awe as innovative artists project site specific artwork onto the Georgia Street façade of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Explore the Fringes

September 7-17

The Vancouver Fringe Festival is back! This theatre festival is always a mixed bag of the wacky and wonderful, with everything from one-person storytelling shows to comedic puppet cabarets. To best enjoy, pick up a ticket pass and take a chance on a handful of performances you might never see otherwise. Dance in the Street

September 9

Finally! You can dance in the street and have people join instead of avoid you. Boogie with Public Disco as they turn outdoor spaces usually occupied by cars into dance parties, with music provided by some of Vancouver’s top house and disco DJs. Bike Under the Stars

September 16

Dress up your bike in lights and join over 5,000 other riders in a beautiful night ride down Vancouver streets and across the Burrard Street Bridge. Bike the Night presented by MEC and HUB Cycling includes a pre-party with music, free bike mechanics, decorations and snacks! Help Out Your Feline Friends

Word Vancouver is a free literary festival celebrating the written word, featuring a plethora of artists hosting book releases, workshops and seminars. Events include a reading of new children’s literature complete with hot chocolate, a discussion on Indigenous writers’ relationship to “CanLit” and a night of storytelling from Canadian Muslim women. Walk for Reconciliation

Take a walk to help build relationships between Indigenous people and all Canadians. Put on by Reconciliation Canada, the 2017 Walk for Reconciliation honours those impacted by the Residential School System as well as envisions what reconciliation means moving forward.
