Power 50 2012 Event

On November 14, The Rennie Collection at Wing Sang hosted Vancouver Magazine’s 12th Annual Power 50 event. The event drew a crowd of Vancouver’s top power players, who gathered to celebrate the people who make Vancouver great.

The theme for this year’s list was innovation – a concept that Vancouver magazine Editor-in-Chief John Burns touched upon in his opening remarks, and was reflected in the number of new-comers on the list, including Washington Companies’ Kyle Washington (No. 12), Lululemon CEO Christine Day (No. 22), Haisla First Nation Chief Councillor Ellis Ross (No. 25), Hootsuite CEO Ryan Holmes (No. 34), and Smallworks Studios and Laneway Housing Inc. owner Jake Fry (No. 50). Repeat honourees included Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson (No. 1), City of Vancouver’s Chief of Staff Michael Magee (No. 9), Rennie Marketing Systems’ Director and the evening’s host Bob Rennie (No. 19), and BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS’s Director Julio Montaner (No. 18).

Vancouver magazine would like to thank the following companies for their outstanding contributions to the event:

Frey Wille | Fraiche | Le Vieux Pin | Coal Harbour Brewing | Medical Rejuvenation Centre
