Top 5 Reasons to Enter the Made in Vancouver Awards

It's all about celebrating the Maker Culture in Vancouver.

Made in Vancouver is back! Now in its second year, our awards are here to celebrate the best of Maker Culture in the city. Considering entering? Here are five things you should know.

1. It Can Change Your Business

Last year’s Best Drink category winner, Culture Kefir Co. took their win to the next level: “We’ve used the award as a highlight to bankers, investors, and customers at multiple levels,” says CEO and Founder Lyndsay Scott. “It was powerful to have the print publication. I feel that an award like this one lends some independent brand validity. And we found copies of the award issue at some of our retail account offices when we went in to pitch for a listing at their stores.”

And our Beauty category winner, Nala Care, found that winning the award helped grow their retail locations. “Not only did we get beautiful Vancouver Magazine coverage and a photo, but also we were featured in a TV morning show,” says CEO Radmila Juristovski Bosnic.  “The award elevated Nala brand awareness as well as attracted retailers, influencers and social media followers.”

2. You’re Putting Your Work in Front of Both Our Stellar Judges, and the Editors.

Our judges are all top influencers in their field—they’re the people you want to be in front of. The talent in Vancouver’s Maker scene means narrowing down entries to the top 10 finalists in each category is going to be an epic battle—but even those that don’t hold the title of “winner” will be evaluated for potential coverage in the magazine. We’re thrilled to be discovering more of you every day.

3. Speaking of Finalists…You’ll Be Celebrated on Vanmag.com and Our Social Channels.

We’ll be announcing the finalists for our Made in Vancouver Awards June 1, 2020. All finalists will receive brag badges that they can promote on their own social channels and websites. Many of our finalists in 2019 instantly received dozens of calls to stock their wares in shops around the city. Becoming a finalist is a huge deal—and we want you to celebrate it.

4. Winners and Finalists Will Appear in Our Keepsake July/August Issue.

We’ll be dedicating our July/August issue to the excellent maker scene in Vancouver.
