Last year's Herschel warehouse sale was actually pretty great, so they've likely got the 2024 event in the bag.
Here’s the thing about most warehouse sales: you wait forever in line, you’re overwhelmed the second you get in, you passive aggressively battle for the few not-ugly items (after all, wouldn’t anything good have already been sold at a non-discounted price?), you accidentally elbow a stranger, you develop a thirst for blood, et cetera. Often, the change rooms are awkward and chaotic. Usually, the prices aren’t even that discounted. A lot of the time, it really isn’t worth it.
But here’s the thing about Herschel’s warehouse sale–at least, here’s the way it was at their first-ever warehouse sale in November 2022: most of the Vancouver-based retailer’s items don’t come in different sizes, and almost nothing needs to be tried on. Sure, they do have a small but mighty collection of unisex clothing (my partner’s wardrobe is about 80 percent Herschel pocket tees) but most folks heading to the sale on November 8 to 12, 2023 are going be looking for a backpack, suitcase, wallet, laptop sleeve or other sort of bag. No need to root through sizes. No need to lug a handful of clothes hangers—Wolverine-style—to the communal change room.
Get your bag and get out.
That’s my advice, anyway. When I attended the Herschel sale last year, there was a huge variety of products, plenty of space to move around in, and—most importantly—I was in and out in 20 minutes.
Here’s what was on sale last year:

Ask anyone who has been to any other warehouse sale in the city (cough, Aritzia)—it’s tricky to escape without losing at least an hour of your day (and almost losing a finger).
According to Herschel, this week’s sale will have items discounted up to 75 percent off. Yes, I’ll be girl-mathing my way through. Here are the details:
When: November 8 to 13 Where: Vancouver Convention Centre East Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Sidenote: Did anyone who watched season 5 of Love Is Blind notice that Izzy is carrying a Herschel backpack to the venue on his wedding day? The man doesn’t have real plates or cups but he seems to think a Herschel bag is worth the cash… food for thought…
