March Food Events in Vancouver: Where to Feast This Month

Vancouver's most delicious food and drink events—March 2024 edition.

Soak up the longer days of March with some extra joie de vivre—we’re talking juicy Vancouver Cocktail Week events, whimsical themed afternoon teas, and one-night-only restaurant collabs. We even snuck in an April event for all you type-A planners.

Westin Bayshore’s Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea

Whoever dreamed up this adorable tea at H Tasting Lounge gets a gold star from us. Bring a friend to experience the Hundred Acre Wood–inspired lounge and order tea or champagne before indulging in dishes that play off A.A. Milne’s characters: Eeyore’s Birthday Surprise is a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich with granulated honey, Piglet’s Big Adventure is a sweet coconut dacquoise-strawberry mousse treat, and so on.

Stay tuned for collabs with SUYO x Elisa, Wildlight, and Masayoshi later this year.

Maenam and Friends: A Dinner Series

Spoiler alert. The first event of this series—a unique dinner featuring 18 snacks by chefs Angus An and Published on Main’s Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson—is already sold out. We suspect future dinners will go fast, too, so we’re sneaking in an April experience in hopes you can snag a spot. Maenam will host Bo.lan, one of Thailand’s top restaurants (and featured on Netflix’s Chef’s Table) for a sensory, multi-course Thai dinner.

Macaron Day at Mon Paris Pâtisserie

Macaron Day may have been founded in France to support charities (by none other than macaron royalty, Pierre Hermé) but it’s now celebrated in cities all over the world. At Burnaby’s Mon Paris Patisserie, an exclusive Sakura Strawberry flavour is on offer with 50% of macaron sales donated to the Burnaby SPCA in honour of owner/pastry chef Elena Krasnova’s dearly departed cat, Sasha.

Fanny Bay Oysters x Copperpenny

Sip, slurp, scoop, and repeat at North Van’s Copperpenny Distillery Co. when they host an Oyster and Paella Pop-Up Night collaboration with Fanny Bay Oysters. Gin-lovers rejoice, as the perfect seafood pairing will also be poured: craft cocktails featuring citrusy, award-winning #006 Oyster Shell Gin.

Wild Blue’s Winemaker Dinner with Goldschmidt Vineyards

Wild Blue’s Executive Chef Derek Bendig and Wine Director Kathryn Woods were inspired to plan this special dinner after tasting Goldschmidt’s cabernets; expect flavours on the plate to pair perfectly.

Vancouver Cocktail Week Highlights (March 3–10)

Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Signature Sunday Cocktail Brunch

Nothing says classy Sunday funday like a five-course PacRim brunch paired with top-of-the-line cocktails. Vancouver Cocktail Week kicks off with just that, hosted by Botanist Restaurant and partnering with London-based Swift bar, ranked #76 on the 2023 World’s 50 Best Bars. Here’s a taste: Foie Gras Torchon (waffles with shiso and bacon infused syrup) paired with a Garibaldi Lake cocktail (Amaro Montenegro, orange juice, sudachi, and bitter aperitif).

WHERE: 1038 Canada Pl.

Laowai x Cat Bite Club

If you’ve yet to visit Laowai, the cocktail-and-dim sum speakeasy behind BLND TGER in Chinatown, take this as your sign. There are a few Laowai bar takeovers happening during Vancouver Cocktail Week, and this one features Jesse Vida, head bartender at Atlas in Singapore and now partner in the agave-forward speakeasy Cat Bite Club. Ticket includes four cocktails and a round of dumplings. (Hot tip: get 20% off your ticket with promo code FriendofLaowai.)

Jungle Room’s Jungle Juice

Spice up your Monday night with a drag performance by Amy Grindhouse, Kara Juku, and PM, plus some divine vodka cocktails. The evening is also sponsored by Ketel One vodka and Seedlip—none other than the world’s #1 distilled non-alcoholic spirits—so if you’re abstaining, but still wanna have fun, this is the event for you.

WHEN:
March 4
WHERE: 961 Denman St.

Bar Corso x Amaro Lucano

If you’d choose a cocktail pairing over a wine pairing any day, go to this Italian-inspired event at neighbourhood-fave Bar Corso. Highlights of the four-course dinner include a Lambrusco Spritz paired with a Burrata-Matera Bread appy, Gregorio Vittorio cocktail paired with freshly made pasta, and more. (ICYMI, here’s why we think Bar Corso might be the most romantic date night resto in town.)
