You'll want a pizza this North Shore ristorante.
North Vancouverites, rejoice—no longer will you have to brave the Burrard Inlet to get a slice of Pizzeria Farina‘s wood-fired pies. Farina a Legna opens this Thursday, September 19. The space is like the earthy, North Shore sibling to Pizzeria Farina’s cool downtown digs, complete with an in-restaurant grocery store selling handmade pasta, olive oil and other dry goods.
The pizza menu will feature some Main Street favourites as well as a new selection of Northern Italian cuisine, including Ortolana (veggie), Bosciaola (white sauce and prosciutto cotto), and Prosciutto & Arugula (prosciutto and arugula—yes, we are fluent Italian speakers). Plus, there’s a bar with espresso-based beverages, local craft beer and prosecco, and house-made cocktails.
This restaurant is the latest endeavour of Kitchen Table Restaurants, the hospitality group responsible for comfort food favourites Pourhouse, Di Beppe, and Ask For Luigi. Farina a Legna looks like yet another warm hug—a hug dressed in the stylings of Craig Stanghetta of Ste. Marie Design and garnished with antiques curated by Scott Landon Antiques and Interiors. Executive Chef Alessandro Vianello of Pourhouse and Jeffrey Tang of the OG Farina will be leading the kitchen team.
Farina a Legna will be open at 5 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, and happy hour starts at 9 p.m.—but when you don’t have to cross a bridge, board a boat, or pay for parking to get a slice, every hour should be a happy one.
Opens Thursday, September 19119 2nd Street Eastpizzeriafarina.com/northvan
