5 Out-of-This-World Events Happening in Vancouver This Week (August 19-25)

Space Case

August 22

We like to use artificial intelligence for finding out tomorrow’s weather or when Carly Rae Jepsen’s birthday is (November 21, obviously)—but the world of AI is getting real complex, real fast. At AI: The Changing Face of Technology, you can explore the social impact, ethics, science and uses for artificial intelligence with a drink in hand. Live your sci-fi dreams with trivia, live science demos, and a lecture delivered by Kevin Leyton-Brown, the Director of UBC’s Centre for Artificial Decision-Making and Action.

When: Thursday, August 22; 7:30 p.m. & 10:00 p.m.
Where: H.R. MacMillan Space Centre
Cost: $25
