This hidden treasure of a cosmetics store is full of makeup gems.
India Rose Cosmeticary hosted its first holiday party, giving us the opportunity to test out some of their latest products. The upscale cosmetic store, owned by makeup artist India Daykin, opened last April on Mackenzie Street. Since then, Daykin has been personally sourcing a carefully curated collection (think Agent Nateur deoderant, Cosmetics 27 eye repair cream and Blind Barber pomade)—and they weren’t all easy to get, either. According to Daykin, Joëlle Ciocco requires that you train with her in person (which means a trip to Paris, France) before you can carry her skincare products. C’est la vie!
Daykin recommends this ethically-made soap from Provence. “It’s really hydrating and it’s beautiful,” says Daykin. She also loves the variety of scents this brand provides including black tea and strawberry.
India Rose’s Julie Newton says this is her favourite highlighter. The best part? It’s easy to swipe on. “It turns my face from very pale to a warm glow,” says Newton.
This natural cleanser was our favourite product from the event. Made with saponin flower, it left our skin feeling soft and supple upon waking up this morning.
