Purdys Chocolatier is making a cool contribution to the 2SLGBTQ+ community with its special Pride Ice Cream Bar—but it's only around till the end of June.
In the spirit of Pride Month, Purdys Chocolatier is once again making waves in the confectionery world, but this time it’s not just about the chocolate. It’s about love, acceptance and a whole lot of sprinkles.
No strangers to creating chocolate for charity, the Purdys Chocolatier folks got creative with their marketing for Easter this year and hired a rabbit to pick its fave holiday treat in its own mini choco-factory (it chose lettuce obviously—the chocolate of the bunny world) and proceeds went to a charity called Rabbitats. Check out our story on it here.
In a move that’s as sweet as the treats, Purdys Chocolatier is donating $1 from every sale of the Ultimate PRIDE Bar to The Get REAL Movement, a non-profit organization that works tirelessly to combat 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism and bullying.
Purdys Chocolatier has set a lofty goal of raising $40,000 through this initiative, and is calling on all chocolate and ice cream lovers to help them reach it. But don’t worry, this isn’t a case of all give and no get. In return for your support, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious ice cream bar and a gourmet chocolate from Purdys Chocolatier’s case. Snacking for a cause? That might be the closest thing to a win-win I’ve ever heard of!
The Ultimate Pride Bar is available at your nearest Purdys choccolate shop Canada-wide from now until the end of June (that’s coming up fast!). So, this Pride Month, why not celebrate with a treat that’s as colourful as the Pride flag and as sweet as equality itself? After all, nothing says “Pride” quite like a mouthful of sprinkles and a heart full of love.
