Featuring big-name chefs and creative cuisine.
Starting in late August, the Chinese Restaurant Awards’ Dining by the Awards is returning with a showcase of Chinese cuisine. The late summer dining series focuses on new-wave chefs, which means a spotlight on internationally acclaimed chefs who are well, making waves.
There are three different events taking place during the series, each of which will offer a unique dining experience.
Chefs Eva Chin and Lucas Sin
Renowned New York-based chef, Lucas Sin (of Junzi and Food & Wine Magazine‘s Best New Chef 2021) is flying in for the events, as is Toronto-based chef Eva Chin (of Momofuku Kōjin fame). Together they will work with various local chefs, including chef William Lew of Club Versante, Cantonese chef Wing Wah Hui of Regal Mansion and pastry students from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts.

The events curate distinctive dining experiences that support the growth of Chinese cuisine. Participants will collaborate, design and reimagine authentic Chinese recipes and cooking techniques, while utilizing innovative themes to celebrate who they are as culinary artists. Chef Sin and Chef Chin, for example, will highlight their memories of Hong Kong cuisine, while western cuisine-trained Chef Lew will create dishes that are infused with Chinese flavours.
Later in the fall, the Dining by the Awards Finale will a feast prepared by master Chef Lee Man Sing (Group Chinese cuisine chef of Mott 32) alongside Vancouver culinary talents.
