Thanks to the Via Tevere team, Don’t Argue Slice Shop returns to Vancouver's Little Italy on March 1st.
Grab your stretchiest pizza pants: one of Vancouver’s favourite pizza joints, Don’t Argue, is making its triumphant return on March 1st. And its coming to Vancouver’s own Little Italy district, the birthplace of pizza (don’t fact-check that). After a brief hiatus, Don’t Argue Slice Shop is set to open its doors inside the cozy confines of Caffè Soccavo (1321 Commercial Drive). Now you can grab a slice of authentic New York-style pizza with a side of Italian charm and a true dry Italian cappuccino.
Formerly a fixture on Main Street, Don’t Argue Pizza closed its doors in 2019 after a legendary five-year run. But fear not, pizzarinos! With the blessing of the original founder Nathaniel Geary, the pizza torch has been passed to the dynamic duo of brothers Dom and Frank Morra, the masterminds behind Caffè Soccavo and East Van’s iconic Via Tevere Pizzeria.
Any way you slice it, this is good news for those who love pizza (so everyone!) and especially those who live near the Drive. Offering up a by-the-slice pizza lineup of all-stars, you can expect some old Don’t Argue faves along with new additions by the Via Tevere team.
Expect to see classics like the margherita (and a spicier version) along with the fancier pancetta pineapple (for those who practice pineapple on pizza) and pesto ricotta. And let’s not forget the legendary potato mash—a pizza topped with whipped potato (yes, I said whipped potato), red onion and braised kale that reminds us you really can have it all.
Along with pizzas, you can grab a salad, antipasto, paninis, soft-serve ice cream and a selection of espresso-based drinks.
“We’re excited and honoured to relaunch one of Vancouver’s most iconic pizza brands in a new format within our Little Italy caffè,” says Dom Morra, in a release. “When we first opened Cafe Succavo in the former Abruzzo Cappuccino Bar, our goal was to breathe new life into the space while paying homage to a neighbourhood institution. We have an opportunity to do that once again now as we bring back Don’t Argue Pizza’s legendary slices in a new home.”
So mark your calendars and get ready to indulge in the ultimate pizza experience. Don’t Argue Slice Shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and until 10 p.m. on weekends.
