Fridays and Saturdays in December, Coal Harbour’s seawall is your go-to spot for live music, dazzling light displays and the very niche (and, in my opinion, stressful) art of fire performance. Camp out at the cozy covered Harbour Green Park Stage for some live music and hot bevies, both boozy and non-boozy, depending on how festive you want to get. Among the performances this week, check out Friday’s School of Rock; Saturday brings singer Kristin Fung crooning you by the waterfront.
When: December 23-24 Where: Coal Harbour Cost: Free More Info: livenup.ca
Stroll down Gingerbread Lane at Hyatt Regency and witness a world where the housing market is deliciously affordable. It’s like real estate, but sweeter.
When: December 18 Where: Hyatt Regency Hotel Cost: Free (donations are encouraged.) More Info: gingerbreadlane.ca
Okay, so the Stanley Park Bright Nights train sold out in under an hour when they were released this fall, but there’s still holiday magic to be found here, even if you weren’t among the lucky 17,000 who snagged tickets. Holiday light displays are still dazzling even if you’re not riding the rails, and activities in the plaza are free for all ages.
When: December 18-24 Where: Stanley Park Cost: Free More Info: vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/bright-nights-train.aspx
