Vin Van's new monthly disco-and-wine night, Stompin' Grapes, checks all of our boxes.
I’ll admit it—wine pairing has never been something that came naturally to me. (Heck, wine tasting sometimes is even a challenge, as my humiliating attempt in our editors’ blind malbec competition last spring revealed.) But here’s what I can say confidently: wine and disco make for excellent companions.
At least that’s the pitch Vin Van is making with its new monthly Stompin’ Grapes series… and I have never been led astray by the pop-up wine co. before. Vin Van’s weekly wine nights—hosted at locations like Dock Lunch and Turf as of late—are always a good time, and with Stompin’ Grapes, they’re cranking up the party vibe.

In the Ellis Building’s Library Libations room (which the Vin Van team describes as “speakeasy vibes,” ooooh!), expect bar service with a hand-picked menu of cool and curious by-the-glass wines curated by Vin Van, and a “stomp-worthy playlist” of vinyl tracks. Mingle around cocktail tables or groove a little, glass in hand.
Expect fun surprises each month, too—this month, for instance, you’ll also catch cocktail whiz AMac from the Diamond whipping up cocktails behind the bar, and guest DJ Katy Witts curating the uptempo tunes.
The first Stompin’ Grapes runs tomorrow, June 16, from 6:00 p.m. ’til late. Get those dancin’ shoes ready.
